Located in Oslo’s art district on Rådhusgata 20, Fotografiens Hus is an exhibition space and community-oriented gallery dedicated to showcasing photography as a creative medium.
Through developing and producing photographic exhibitions exploring the expansive spectrum of lens-based genres and practices, our overarching goal is to continue to cultivate and support public engagement with photography and with the photographic community, provide opportunities for the sharing of knowledge grounded in photo as both trade and artform, and push to make room for new voices and stories that challenge our current narratives and ways of seeing. Since our founding in 1999, Fotografiens Hus has supported and showcased well established as well as emerging artists both local and international. As we continue to develop our programming, we are especially conscious of prioritizing inclusivity as we wish to highlight perspectives that reflect the vital diversity of our communities.
Operation of Fotografiens Hus is made possible due to support from Norske Fagfotografers Fond.
